Facing challenges? Got questions? Worried sick about anything?
If you are a child of God you can swap your anxiety for the peace of God that surpasses all understanding (Note: not any old peace but the peace of God Himself and that which defies understanding!)
This is how it works: keeping the imminent return of the Lord in perspective, make your requests known to God by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. That is all that it takes. Philippians 4:6 — 7
…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
In everything, by prayer and supplication – not forgetting thanksgiving -make your requests (that which is causing you anxiety) known to God. As simple as that. It is a steal. You get peace that defies explanation in exchange for your anxiety.
Prayer of course presupposes faith in God for without faith it is not only impossible to please God but to receive anything from Him – let alone His peace that is inexplicable. Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
When one, “by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving lets one’s requests be made known to God”, one is effectively swapping their anxiety for a peace so deep and inexplicable. This is unparalleled and without comparison.
It is this exercise of “by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving making our requests known to God,” that we need to keep fit in. It is our antidote for anxiety. Anxiety is neither healthy nor in God’s plans for us – the peace of God that surpasses all understanding is. Hence the call to engage with God in prayer and supplication – not forgetting thanksgiving.
Banish anxiety. Forever. It is neither healthy nor in God’s plans for you.
1 Peter 5:7
…casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
