Keeping the connection live: Day 3

“Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements gained slowly over time.” ― John C. Maxwell, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth: Live Them and Reach Your Potential.

BENEFIT # 3

Our personal daily devotion to the Lord and regular fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ represents the major avenue of our transformation into Christlikeness.

As we get to see, experience and know the Lord more and more for ourselves, our personal knowledge of God grows and develops leading to our gradual transformation into His likeness.

2 Corinthians 3:18
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

This is a Spirit engendered and driven enterprise but an important one nonetheless. Transformation into Christlikeness IS God’s overarching agenda in each of our lives (Romans 8:29). But for the process of transformation to successfully happen we need to facilitate for it. We need to make the time to regularly contemplate, behold and reflect on God’s person, i.e. His glory by engaging with Him through His Word – where He has revealed Himself – and His Spirit. Reflective (not rushed and hasty) reading, meditation and study of His word and communion with Him on a daily basis along with fellowship with brothers and sisters is what makes for inner transformation.

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…

Our firm and unwavering commitment to our daily devotion and regular fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ is what is going to fuel and effect our ongoing inner transformation into Christlikeness.
