Like David, get God on board and involved in every area of your life and do not miss His awesome favour and power to assist and direct you toward His divine purposes in your life.
It is when you have Him on board, deliberately invite Him in that He gets the opportunity and the chance, the permission to act on your behalf. It is when you issue Him with the license to intervene in your life by calling upon His name and committing your plans, your moves and your intentions to Him and trusting in His ability and loving kindness to bring about the outcome that is best for your life in the long term that He is able and licensed to act on your behalf.
Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.
Without you inviting Him into your life challenges and pursuits intentionally, you’re left without the intervention of the divine every step of the way and are merely conducting your life on the natural, human level only.
For it is in these interventions in your day to day “non-spiritual” life that you discover and get to know God wholly and on a personal level. Until then your knowledge is limited to the realm of the theoretical and “spiritual” without much practical value for the here and now. And it is also when we commit our way to the Lord and trust in His ability and kindness to bring about the best possible outcome in the given circumstances that we find peace and calm. It is in committing our lives and the challenges we face therein into His hands in complete trust that His peace and calm beyond measure come upon us. No matter what it is we are faced with we can stay calm in the knowledge that we have Him on board with us because we have taken the step of intentionally inviting Him to intervene on our behalf and trust that He will definitely do so in His sovereignty and divine providence.
Phi 4:6 — Phi 4:7
…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
It is here, in your act of voluntarily calling upon the Lord, acknowledging Him in your challenges that you dispel anxiety and kill worry. By bringing your concerns and challenges to God and committing your way to Him you swap anxiety and worry for peace and calm that is mind boggling and beyond comprehension. But we need to take care that we do not engage in this act of committing our way to the Lord perfunctorily but with genuine trust and faith in Him.
Proverbs 3:5 – 6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Get into the habit of committing everything (do not leave anything out) to the Lord in prayer trusting in His goodness and loving kindness towards you, knowing that He alone knows what’s best for you every step of the way and is able to make it happen – if only you would let Him.
Stop struggling through life on your own when God is ready and on hand to assist you all along and help you reach and fulfill the potential He has destined you for in every area of your life and throughout the process get to know Him up close and personal.
